I imagined if i were a deer, I would feel mesmerized when I see a car that has it's headlights on. The last thing I would see are a pair of headlights. Being a deer is so depressing.

Afternoon traffic in Vietnam is chaotic, if you are a foreigner. You won't know which direction the motorbikes are going. It's what i call, a little taste of chaos.

My mommy and I were re-painting my room. I wanted my room to be pink, but my mom considered blue looks better. We negotiated, the color of my room will be purple. Pink and blue mixed together makes purple.

What is the significance of the story’s title, “Stop the Sun”?

The Vietcong is a group of Northern Vietnamese men who attacked soldiers who fought for Southern Vietnam. Usually the Vietcong would attack at dawn. In the story Terry’s dad was in a group of fifty-four American soldiers. He was the only one alive after the attack of the Vietcong at dawn. Before the incident Terry’s dad hoped the sun would stop. But you cannot stop the sun from rising into the dark sky. In other words the story title, “Stop the Sun” means to stop the Vietcong from attacking the American soldiers, and maybe all fifty-four men would still be alive.

Walking through a dark storage. Detective Gibbs solved every murder case that has accrued when he started working in 1999. 7th Street police station in downtown Maryland. It was the year of 2010. He remembered the story like it happened yesterday.
Monday morning 8:00am, Gibbs was called to go to Briggs Chaney Middle School, because of a report of homicide. Police cars parked in the front of the school. Gibbs walks in with a long black cloak. He walks into the middle school gym.
“What do we have here boys?” Gibbs said with curiosity
“Rosie Black, 13, died for about three days” said an officer
“Where is the body?” Gibbs said
“Look Up”
The body was hung on top of the gym. Later the police took down the body. The cause of death is that she was beaten to death with a bat. He knew he needed to interview the victim’s friends for evidence and narrow down the suspect.
After looking and examining that body. Gibbs walked to the supply room in the gym. He took a look at the bat section. All but one bat had blood on it. The blood indentified was Rosie Black.
Gibbs interviewed the victim’s boyfriend. Jake McKenzie
“When did you last see Rosie?”
“Last Friday, right after school end, Rosie told me she had to go home early because her parents thinks she’s using drugs” Jake said chuckling
“Do you know anyone that might want to hurt Rosie?”
“Why are you asking me questions about Rosie?” Jake said with concern
“Rosie was murdered”
“What!”Jake blacked out and started crying.
Gibbs took a closer look at the crime scene; it was dark and chilly outside. He heard strange sounds coming from the gym. He quietly pulls out his gun from his black cloak. Sounds of sobbing, and sounds of dragging something heavy. He walked closer and closer to the dark crime scene. The sounds got louder and louder. He finally got to the gym. Gibbs saw someone, in a navy blue jacket, which has the logo of the Briggs Chaney’s Bears. Wearing skinny jeans from Macy’s “Get Back To School” sale. Some all-star converse, it was too dark Gibbs couldn’t recognize the color.
“Stay where you are and put your hands where I can see them” Gibbs said to the stranger
“I’m sorry Rosie, I just wanted you to know how I felt” A girl said with a teary voice.
“I’m detective Gibbs, I’m here to help. Who are you?”
“I…I….I’m Jennifer Shin. I didn’t mean too. I didn’t know what else to do”
Gibb’s took out his phone and called 911
“What did you do?” Gibbs said trying to stall
“It was an accident, I took the bat. I couldn’t stop I was so mad”
Police sirens, doors opening, and sounds of footsteps coming closer. Suddenly the light went on. Police arrested the young girl, and took her to the police station.
Finally Gibbs arrived at the police station. He walked to the interviewing room to interview Jennifer.  He stepped in the room the girl’s hair was a mess. Her mascara made her tears black. She looked depressed.
“Why Jennifer Why?” Gibbs asked wondering
“Rosie and I were best friends, until Jake came along. He ruined everything” Jennifer said with anger in her voice.
“Then what. Killing Rosie would make this better, so you would be with Jake?” Gibbs said
“NO, I had feelings for Rosie. I couldn’t stand seeing her with Jake. I thought if I told her I liked her she would like me back. Friday Night I gave a note telling her to meet me in the gym. I told her I loved her and kissed her. Rosie just told me to stay away from her, so I took the bat and started hitting her.” Jennifer said
“Why did you go back to the crime scene?” Gibbs asked
“I regret killing Rosie; I will so anything to be with her” Jennifer said
Jennifer was sent to prison in Florida. After a month there, she hung herself. Now she can be with Rosie forever.

Narrative Essay

Accidental Acupuncture

"Hey Alysia, watch me do a cannon ball in the pool" I said
"Splash" Alysia said imitating the sound of mt body colliding  into the water.
I like diving into the water because of the gravity pulling me down towards the water. The air rushing through my hair and "Boom" my body meets the water. The little things in life are so fascinating, like a simple dive could feel so thrilling.
"Kristine! Let's go change, and then eat lunch" My mom yelled.
I didn't hear her because I was checking out pruned toes and my are bubbles. Like any other girl swimming in hotel pools in Ocean City, Maryland, must come up for air. By then I heard my mom. So i swam to the edge of the pool, and got out. But when i walked to my hotel room with Alysia, my left foot started to hurt when i would take a step. It would feel like i was walking barefoot on broken twigs, I thought I sprained my foot . So I didn't care, and went to change.
I went to lunch; it was just any other day, some seafood restaurant. The food was okay, I wouldn't say delicious. My family and Alysia's family had plans together; we would go on to the Ocean City Annual Summer Beach Party, and then have a peaceful walk on the beach. By the time I started the walk on the beach, I started to limp, because now every step i I take was like walking on needles and hot rocks. I kept it to myself; I thought tomorrow it would stop hurting. But before the night was over, my dad spotted me limping.
"Kristine stop" My dad said with concern.
"Yes, hoe may I help you" I said joking around and giggling
"Are you limping ?" He said.
I knew my dad was looking at mt feet, when i was walking i tried to hide the fact that i was limping, and thinking of what would happen if he found out. I was so focused in my thoughts that i was limping.
"KRISTINE, YOU ARE LIMPING" My dad yelled.
I felt so embarrassed; people miles away could hear him. I stopped and confessed with my puppy eyed, which never did worked on my dad, but i got to give it a try.
"I'm so sorry i lied, its been hurting all afternoon" I said nearly about to sob. I could hear Alysia giggling, and it made me feel bad. Luckily we were two blocks from the hotel, because my dad had to carry me there. When we got to the hotel, my hospital the next day, and i got an X-ray.
"There is a needle in your daughters left foot,it seems to be there for a long time, and i think this is a case of the accidental acupuncture" The doctor said. I was grounded because I didn't tell anyone , that my foot was in a lot of pain. I learnt that when I'm in any type on pain i must tell my parents.

What does it mean "to pull a Charlie Gordon"?

In the story "Flowers for Algernon" Charlie Gordon, has a mental problem. He is not able to be creative, and  learn like other students at his night school for adults. He thinks that being creative is to lie about people he does not know. Charlie's I.Q. is 68, is pretty dumb for an average adult. Charlie has been chosen to have a surgical operation, which will make him smart.

Some of Charlie's friends are Joe Carp and Frank Reilly. Before the operation, Joe and Frank would say " to pull a Charlie Gordon", and laugh afterwards. But Charlie would also laugh, because he did not know what it meant.

Tonight when Charlie went drinking with Frank, Joe, and some other girls at work. Joe told Charlie to dance with Ellen, and she'll show you some dance steps. But Charlie kept tripping and falling when he was dancing. Charlie started to blush. He's friends thought, he was interested in Ellen. I think he was blushing because he was falling a lot. So At that point he understood when he's friends meant they said " to pull a Charlie Gordon "

I think "to pull a Charlie Gordon" is when Charlie's friends do something stupid. He's Friends only like him for his stupidity, which is mean. But after the operation, Charlie was not an idiot any more, so he's friends did not like him anymore, because he understood them when why were making fun of him.
